Prioritizing Action on Poverty Reduction
NOTE: As of Saturday, March 13th, 2021, this engagement is closed, and new entries are no longer being accepted. Thank you to all those who participated. With your help, we will learn and address where the City of Prince George should focus its efforts in order to make the biggest impact on the lives of those living in poverty.
In October 2019, Prince George City Council approved the formation of a Select Committee on Poverty Reduction to recommend how the City could address poverty. Councillor Murry Krause chaired the committee of volunteers, who brought diverse perspectives and understandings of poverty reduction to meetings that took place from November 2019 - October 2020. The Committee needs your input to rank the priority and urgency of its recommendations.
Special effort will be made to hear from those with lived experience in poverty and those who support and advocate for them. We’re partnering with community groups and organizations to ensure a diverse representation of voices are heard. This will ensure final recommendations for City actions to reduce poverty at the local level will have a positive impact.
